Hi I'm looking for help!!! So my father in law is 83 years young and suffered a stroke at 40 years of age, he lost movement in the majority of his left side but was lucky enough to still be able to walk, now as his getting older and more unsteady on his feet I didn't know if a frame of some sort may help him, is this even possible??? With him only having his right side he leans all his weight that side so will it tip over is there one out there that could help??? I would be so greatful of some advise, sending well wishes to you all ?

Welcome to the community @sarah484 has your father in law been seen by a physiotherapist or occupational therapist as they would be best to advise which aids would be suitable for him

HI and welcome,Start with referring him for a needs assessment with his local council. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Thank you so much ?

@sarah484 I would just add that yes a needs assessment would be the best way forward, you can sometimes pick up frames at charity shops, it may be worth trying to get one and see if it helps, just make sure it is safe and when he tries to use it initially he is supervisedd
