Improving accessibility for wheelchair users

Hi,
I'm a theatre technician at a 6th Form College, and I've joined this forum to seek advice about improving accessibility for wheelchair users in the spaces I manage.
Specifically, we have a set of tiered platforms which are used as the base for audience and technical crew seating in various configurations of a 22m by 11m space. Each section is 8' by 4' in area, and what I want to do is replace one of the sections at the top / back of the tier with a lift so a wheelchair user may get to the top and work there as a technician or stage manager. The height of the top tier platform is about 2m.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
Niall McGrath
