Hi, has anybody any information on carers benefit while covid 19 is going on? I have a carer who also cares for my daughter she lives 17 miles away from me, the cares benefit he gets hardly covers fuel for him as it is and with all this stress he is doing twice as many trips daily to my daughter because she does not understand why she cannot get her normal things she is used to, i live in a small village with one shop that i cannot afford and have agrophobia and heath issues, he has travelled miles and miles to get us basic things, he gets £65 a week for both of us but costing him treble that in fuel, i top it up out my u.c which leaves me in hardship, anything out there to help

Hi,Unfortunately, there's no extra money being given to carers because of the Covid 19 pandemic.Whether your carer would be entitled to any other benefits besides the carers allowance will totally depend on their circumstances. Difficult to advise without knowing all the circumstances of the carer.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
