Help with move

Hi.
if as a disabled person you found a place to do a mutual exchange with (medical reasons needing ground floor) but it needed a lot of work doing to it, ie- cleaning decorating etc, (as quite dirty & couldn’t move in straight away) is there any practical help or suggestions on this please?
i have cats & looked into renting somewhere for us to stay until property was ready to move into, but haven’t found anything yet. (Furniture would have to go into storage)
Thanks

Hi.
Ive recently applied to join a different council as the in the area I want to move to I will receive help & support.
it will also be ground floor as I’m struggling with the stairs in my current property.
ive been placed on middle band .
i realise that no moves are taking place presently due to the Coronavirus, but I would just like some advice from someone please. Thanks -

Hi.
Thanks for your reply.
i just wondered if all councils have stopped housing transfers & mutual exchanges please? -
-
@Lunas, my local council has paused them (except in extreme circumstances), so it is likely others have too. Unfortunately each council will operate differently so we couldn't say for sure. If you can tell me your local council authority I could try and look it up for you, or it may be worth you giving them a call.

Thanks for your replies.
yes I’ve spoken to 2 different councils & everything has been stopped & no new exchange forms are being processed until the lockdown has stopped. -
That's a shame @Lunas, but hopefully you'll be able to get it sorted quite quickly once everything opens up again.Community Manager
