From full care PIP to zero points

My friend has fortnightly depixol injections .for mental health issues she has been on full care part da then pip for past 20 years
CPN used to do all her forms etc but was unable to attend a review which I took her to . They scored her zero points and stopped her pip a lot of what was said in reasons given were complete opposite of what really happened on review . How can you possibly go from full care pip to zero without being cured and no longer needing injections

Hi @poppey - Welcome to the community. It's so distressing when we hear news like this. Many are successfully awarded PIP either initially or at review. Unfortunately this is not the case for some, such as your friend.

She can ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) within a month of the date on her decision letter. This is best done in writing, detailing for those descriptors that applied at the time of her assessment, where she should have gained points, & why. She should put her name & National Insurance number on each sheet.

Did she ask for a copy of her assessment report? She can ring the PIP enquiry line on 0800 121 4433 to ask for this, saying she's also going to write asking for a MR.

if she was unable to get any supporting evidence from her CPN, she could ask for this now to send with her MR.

Unfortunately less than 1 in 5 MRs are successful, but following this a Tribunal appeal can be done.

Thanks for replying .she has got the reasons some of wick were totally opposite from what happened on review eh communicating mixing with other people . I tried to do most of explaining but was told to sushi. She was so distraught the woman nearly stopped the review..They even had a cpn care plan admitedly ab old one. It looks as if she will have to appeal
If her CPN nurse had gone with her I am sure this would not have happened she could not be there as she was sick on day of rearranged appointment
