Hi my husband put in a claim for our 10 yr old daughter we’ve had a letter saying they are still looking in to it but it’s gone over 9 wks now so I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not especially as the schools and the support workers my daughter sees in school aren’t going to be available at the school maybe to give a report if requested bye the the DWP
but we did send a lot of documents with our claim so I’m surprised it’s taking this long

I recommend calling or emailing to find out. When I applied three years ago I sent off the forms with additional evidence via secure recorded post. I then sent a email each week to chase up on the claim. I spent a lot of time sitting down and answering most of the questions on the form. It took forever seriously. My eyes really ached by the time I was finished. I had to lie down in my darkened bedroom with a wet cloth over my eyes and a cup of strong wine too.
The claim was for a physical disability however. So I just put not applicable in the box if the question was irrelevant. Keep on harassing them. Eventually you will know about the decision that was made. I got a letter in the post one weekday to tell me of their decision. If the decision is not in your favor, please appeal. Citizen Advice can assist with this. If you call up on Monday ask to speak to a benefits advisor on Monday who can help.
Can you email the support workers or not? Before I sent the forms off, I had his two therapists prepare a report justifying my application form. I also attached a photocopy of a appointment letter from a specialist proving that he was physically disabled. I even submitted some more evidence in case, mainly copies of pictures of his wheelchair and copies of photos of his leg braces which I glued onto a additional sheet for them. I used the additional info box and a diary to tell them some details about his bladder medications and cathing schedule and appointments. Ask them to provide supporting evidence to you. Get as much as possible.
