Have been on pip for a number of years, but had a nervous breakdown last year and still on medication, can I add this to my ongoing claim that ends in 3yrs time when I will be 70? Thank you

Hi I'm 67 and have pip ongoing which is up when I'm 70,
Last yr I suffered a mental breakdown and still on medication.
Would I be able to apply for the enhanced mobility and daily living now that I'm over 65, or is it not worth the upheaval ,,thanks -

Hello @scatter912.
If you talk to some one on disability and finance page maybe someone would be able to help Good luck my friend . -
Hi @scatter912 - I'm sorry to read you had a nervous breakdown last year. As far as PIP goes, you can't add this to your existing PIP claim. Rather you would have to notify the DWP of your condition changing, & complete a PIP review form.Just to say, it might be worth looking at the PIP 'descriptors' to see if you would gain sufficient points to increase your award; if not, it's probably not worthwhile at the moment. Please see: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/Scores-for-PIP-Descriptors-2020.pdfI hope this will help you make an informed decision.

I don't have anything to add and see you have been given great information already, but just wanted to welcome you to this fabulous and friendly forum. Good luck with PIP and all the best.Winner of the Scope New Volunteer Award 2019.
