PIP appeal 74 weeks and I won

Hi im new on here but wanted to let you know my situation..Dla award low care since 1988. Mobility needed last 3 years but too scared to contact. Eventually Dec 2018 put in for mobility and lost dla as well.Did the mandatory and lost. Did appeal and eventually 74 weeks last week i won low care and mobility on pip. Anyone thinking about quitting DONT. Just got to wait a few weeks to get paid now.

    Got letter from courts saying paying me from july 2019 . Award is to july 2023. 4 year award. Heard to takes approx 8 weeks to get money sorted. Resultttttttttttt

    Getting so stressed now. My son has had to move in with us as we are classed as vulnerable being over 70 and my husband has had his letter from the cancer hospital classing him as most vulnerable. We have always helped my son, me going to his house and cooking for him, my husband driving him to his appointments. He does house calls checking central heating boilers. Always uses his crutch after having 14 operations and a false ankle fitted which has unfortunately not worked. It was reported on his assessment That he could walk up to 250 metres and failed to get his pip for either. We have done the mandatory paperwork which I found really stressful it has now gone to appeal. I have ended up sending three lots of more evidence as now that my son has moved in with us I have noticed more relevant things to his case. He was granted his blue badge which is helpful as my husband can park outside peoples houses for him. He is taking 9 tablets a day for the pain, his other leg is now suffering as it is taking a lot of the pressure off his bad foot. He has now started where his hands seems to be getting arthritic as they are swelling at the knuckles. Don’t know why this is happening but the doctor is only doing phone calls and just given him MORE tablets, he is obviously not working now because Dad can’t leave the house, he is on no benefits, never has been and we are using our savings to pay his household bills. I am at my wits end. Don’t know how long we will have to wait for this appeal. My question is do I send another letter to the tribunal about the problem now with his hands or will they get annoyed at keep getting letters from me. They have accepted me as his appointee. Sorry this post is so long. Would really welcome some advice please.

    im so sorry and concerned regarding your waful situation, hopefully a scope community member will respond with a little advice for you. I wish I could help, im in a pretty bad situation regarding waiting for assessors to contact me, I have no income also, my local mp and case worker have helped me by trying to hurry up the process but still im waiting and I applied beginning of feb for pip. ive had numerous operations and osteoarthritis since my early teenage years [im 51 now] got my motability car taken away 18 months ago after being sent for a medical which was so traumatic for myself and stressful. ive since had an mri and have fybromialgia neck and back and right wrist, my doctor and specialist have sent proof, just waiting now. I understand your situation and the financial difficulties you are going through, best wishes to you all and please don't give up.

    Ahhh thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. Yes it is so stressful, and I really feel for you. I fell and broke my hip in November and have been trying to be brave with my son after my hip replacement. I can’t honestly complain after seeing him go through the trauma he has. We started this pip saga in September . Yes I hope a scope advisor might help me with some information meanwhile look after yourself and stay safe x
