How long in general to get pip decision

Had txt from DWP on the 10th june to say they had got my assessment report for pip and that I should hear from them within 6 weeks
Also if awarded is it paid from the 5th of may when I first rang them up for the claim

Hi. My husband rang 18th of march. Had telephone assesment the 14th of may. Text on the 20th of may. Toldhear within 6 weeks.

Hi @mickymoo & @dawny63 - About a week after assessments you can ring the DWP on 0800 121 4433 & ask for a copy of the assessor's report. At the end of this you will see they indicate where they think you fit against each of the descriptors/activities. If you then compare this to the following link, you can see where points may be awarded. See: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/Global/Migrated_Documents/adviceguide/pip-9-table-of-activities-descriptors-and-points.pdfThe DWP Decision Maker usually goes along with this. You will still have to wait for the decision letter, but at least it will give you an idea as to what may be awarded. If awarded PIP this is from the date of your initial phone call.
