Hi everyone
I’m Gavin, I’m 38 years old from South Wales. I was born with cerebral palsy and I also have a speech impediment. I have just posted my new blog about how lock down has helped me to find my confidence again! Please feel free to have a read and if you have any questions please just ask away ?

    Hi @cliftop123
Welcome to the community and thank you for joining us. Thank you for sharing your blog with us, it was really interesting to read and I am pleased to hear that lockdown has provided you with the opportunity to reflect on things. It is so good that you are turning what has been a really difficult time for everyone into a positive for yourself. I read that you're a songwriter, I imagine that is really interesting and helps you to express yourself. Are you into music in general? If so, what music do you like? I have CP as well and this affects my speech, I can appreciate what you are saying about it been frustrating at times. I've always been encouraged to voice my points of view and this is something I am grateful to my family for encouraging. I still have to work really hard and concentrate whenever I am speaking and though at times this can be really tiring, it is so worth it. Keep going! Thank you.

@WestHam06 thank you for your kind comments! I’m glad you are encouraged to get your voice heard, I think it’s really important - great stuff!
As with my songwriting, I like ANY music, so I can put my hand to writing most genres! I’m signed to a publisher, and he pitches every song that I co-write to singers and record labels all over, including a few well known singers too, so maybe one day you’ll hear one of my songs in the Official Charts, keep your fingers crossed! Take a look at my songwriting page facebook.com/gavinlyrics to keep up to date with all the latest!
Make sure you keep your spirits up during this lock down! Things will get better soon!
    cheers
    Gavin

    Hi @cliftop123
How are you? I checked out a few lyrics on your Facebook page but I don't do social media so it was restricted. They look good, thank you for sharing. I enjoy writing lyrics and poems (though not as good as yours) as it helps me with my emotions. Please may I ask why you started writing lyrics? Thank you.

I'm doing okay thanks. Poetry is a fantastic medium to deal with thoughts and feelings.
