Hi @Elle1998. Were you claiming ESA or anything before you claimed UC?

The PIP descriptors are different to the UC Work Capability Assessment criteria, but there are some overlaps, so if you feel it will support your claim and helps explain your condition, then it can be worthwhile.

Does anyone claim Carer's Allowance for caring for you? Has your partner thought about claiming the carer element of UC?

Hi welcome to the community, have you been asked to provide medical evidence ?

With UC this normally comes after you declare you are unfit for work and provide fit notes stating you are not fit for work, this will then prompt a referral for a work capability assessment, you will be sent a UC50 form to complete and this is when you send off medical evidence.

Sending off your PIP report will do no harm along with other evidence you mentioned

That's good I would go to your online journal if it is up and running and declare new medical condition

This will prompt you to have to submit fit note details (so make sure you have one )
Once entered online you then send copy to job centre

This all starts the process as I mentioned before

    Anything else just ask

Hi @Elle1998. In addition to the evidence you mention, UC will require a fit note signed by your doctor saying you're unable to work. This should ideally be dated from the date you made your UC claim. Do you know how to report a fit note to UC and do you think your GP would sign one for you?
