I believe it is actually the 6 Ps but the 6th word is rude.
Also another military one I like, it was used as early as WW2 I believe

You are quite right about how sayings change. It rather like jokes change from person to person as they are spread around
Some of the sayings I post may not be quite correct. It all comes down to how we remember them.

Do you know the Scottish expression “I mind that”?
My Scottish friend says it a lot and it has a different meaning to something that bothers you. My friend says it when they mean that they remember something? -
