    Hi @leeCal

    You’re not butting in and I really appreciate your knowledge?

    I also don’t know anything about ?
    I am not scared of them and if I see one in the house I try to catch it and put it outside? I never kill spiders.

    I am also used to seeing them because I like gardening but I had never seen such a big or unusual spider before. I was deadheading some flowers in order to collect the seeds and I accidentally broke the spider’s web and then I saw it?

    Thats an interesting looking spider, I wouldn’t have expected to see one like that in the UK

    How big was it?

    @66Mustang

    Approximately just over 2 cms across.

    Thankfully I don’t mind spiders but I have never seen one that looks like that before?

    The ones I usually see are the small ones that I find difficult to catch to put outside. As I said I saw it by chance because I broke its web when I was dead heading some plants so I took a picture because it was so big and unusual?

    Sorry I am really not with it today if you want to read my other posts?

    I meant the body was approximately just over 2cms across not including the legs which were also about 2cms long.

    The female cross spider is very large and I’ve never seen one, but I have seen many male cross spiders and they are pretty big too.

    @leeCal

    I have never seen this type of spider before and I do a lot of gardening.

     I don’t really see that many insects these days apart from slugs and snails?

    I read them, sorry to hear you were struggling yesterday. I hope you feel a little bit better today?

    For some reason after seeing your picture I decided to read about spiders on Wikipedia and then when that happens I always click something else in an article and read about that too. I spent about an hour reading random stuff!

    @RAwarrior it probably depends on what part of the country you’re in, I’m in a warm dry area so perhaps that’s why I see so many cross spiders, have done for years as they’re quite unmistakable.

    Hi @66Mustang

    Thank you for your support once again?

    I really do appreciate it?

    You can thank @leeCal for the information which he provided about the spider as I didn’t have a clue about what type of spider it was?

    I am a little bit better today thanks, however, I am getting physically and mentally worn out by having to constantly repeat myself to my employer?

    I am actually questioning whether or not I explain myself properly. People like yourself and others on this wonderful online community don’t seem to have any difficulty in understanding me so I don’t understand why I have to keep on repeating myself when I talk to my employer?

    The problem is thanks to my employer effectively condoning the bullying and harassment I got PTSD as I have mentioned extensively on several other threads.

    An added problem is that as you know I was already disabled because of my RA and OA so when I get stressed the result is that my psychical pain increases thereby impacting on my mood.?

    I am fed up because for some reason the Equality Act 2010 doesn’t apply to me?

    Hi @leeCal

    I actually know very little about spiders.

    Thankfully they don’t bother me but it was a surprise to see such a large and unusual ?

    Could anyone give me any advice about some good outdoor plants for winter? Our garden is full of flowers and we are want to try keep that as the weather gets colder. :)
