Hello,
Please as any one gone through the mediation for refusal to assess for ehc, please share what I need to gather and what to say at the meeting,my head is all over...
Thank you all -
Hi @Ayodamiamu11 I haven't been through the process myself, and I couldn't find a huge amount of information online after a quick search, but the Civil Mediation Council have a bit of information on their website about what a mediation might be like.
Hopefully one of our members will have been through it, and will be able to provide you with some more insight. -

I can only assume that the school has refused to refer him because they don't agree that the EHCP is needed. It will be impossible to get the process started if there's not enough evidence to show that the EHCP is needed. The mediation is for you to put across your case why you think he needs a ECHP. Is anyone going with you to this meeting? Idealy it should be someone that understands the EHCP process and what exactly is needed regarding the evidence. If you don't understand the process it's going to be extremely difficult to get your point across. This link maybe useful. https://www.ipsea.org.uk/mediation
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
