Should GPs now be seeing patients face to face if the patient requests a consultation?

Our GPs have been told they should be seeing patients but it is still almost impossible to be seen.

What do others think of this?

Do you think many illnesses are being missed?

@woodbine I agree mostly with what you say but there are times when a telephone consult just doesn't cut it.  I had badly swollen feet and ankles and it has caused problems with my arthritis and legs too.  I was given water tablets which have at least allowed me to get shoes on again.  I still think a personal consult would be better to diagnose the problems with my legs which feell like I am trying to lift concrete.

Very good point @roberttaylor570! Also, a lot of clinics have been closed.
