I am a Brain tumor recovered with medium disabilities and also an Ambassador for the Brain Tumor Charity.
I am desperately looking for some work but my restrictions are putting Employers off. Help?

Hi @Stuart207 - welcome to our community; it's good to 'meet' you.
As far as work goes, Scope may be able to help. Here's a link to their 'Support to Work' programme: https://www.scope.org.uk/employment-services/support-to-work/
Please let us know how you get on, as well as pop into the 'Coffee lounge' again. :)

    Good evening @Stuart207!

    Welcome to the community :)

First of all, being an ambassador for the Brain Tumour Charity is a fantastic thing, well done for that. It will look great on your CV.

As @chiarieds excellently suggested, we have a fantastic Support to Work  service which you may be interested in finding out about.

What line of work are you looking to get into?

I have moved your discussion to our employment and careers section, so it will hopefully get more suitable responses.

Thanks to everybody so far for their feedback. To feel part of something is so important. After I came out of hospital all those years ago, I have done all the things they have asked me to do. Councilling, physiotherapy, etc. But the biggest mountain has been finding work.I have just been rejected from an application because of my limitations. Still, never give up

It can be really hard to keep your head up when you're getting lots of rejections but you're right, you should never give up @Stuart207 :) Unfortunately we have quite a few members who are struggling to find suitable work at the moment, so you're definitely not alone.

Have you looked at the Support to Work link that the others sent? Have you considered speaking to someone at the Job Centre? What type of jobs are you looking for?

It can be quite a hurdle @Stuart207, I'm sorry you've found it so difficult.

Have any of your prospective employers known about reasonable adjustments? They should definitely not be rejecting you on the basis of disability, perhaps some of them just don't know of the help that is out there to ensure that disabled people can perform their duties without barriers.

Hi there and welcome . I my self suffer with a few different mental illnesses which stops me from working I would only be able to work for a very understanding non judgmental employer but soon as they here I suffer with hearing voices and delusions as well as anxiety , ptsd and ocd they politely make there excuses to why I didn’t get the job . It’s really hard getting knocked back . But keep on trying .

i personally would love to work again but it’s not possible for my self as I have more bad days than good days currently . Remember the equality act is there not that most employers care for it but the act is put in place . Don’t be afraid to challenge employers on why they did not  hire You.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

I did wonder about your post @Judomandean - the community has guidelines, which members hopefully read. Scope also is able to help disabled people gain employment, so no-one is stopping Stuart from getting the help he needs, & links to this have already been mentioned.

I accept those guidelines, I was just genuinely trying offer a disabled person who is desperately looking for work another option of a recruitment agency who specialise in getting disabled people work.  So so if that is a bad thing to do :(
