Right a bit of a strange one but I will ask anyway as your all lovely and you all deserve a thank you. once again! one thing I love about coming on here is that everyone gets back ASAP to help anyone out I love that. anyway , because I was a victim of fraud I had to take myself off the electoral but going back on it when I get the green light “ I am still living here and getting my mail here and still getting paid off my PIP. thought my local council would tell them that’s the reason I’m not on the roll .... not that PIP question it as when they say have we got the right address for you and I give it them it’s all fine. the lady says it’s nothing to worry about we always ask to make sure we have the correct details ( for address ). is it normal for them to ask or not? I asked my council do they get in contact with PIP and they said no we don’t “ you have to make changes to them directly if you need to. once again thanks everyone !

Not being on the electoral roll has nothing at all to do with a PIP claim. DWP ask for your address as part of the security questions when you ring them.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

There's some info here on the electoral roll. Please see https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register: You can also opt out of the 'open register' so your details would not be passed on to anyone that could buy a copy. See: https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register/opt-out-of-the-open-registerYou do need a valid reason for not being on the electoral roll, e.g. a long hospital stay or severe learning difficulties, as mentioned on the government's website, altho being a victim of fraud is not mentioned.If you have severe learning difficulties, a life-long condition, then I imagine you would not need to be on the electoral roll.As Poppy mentions, the electoral roll has nothing to do with a PIP award. @chiarieds your correct. the council said with Special Needs / learning difficulties it doesn’t matter. the council said they don’t deal with PIP. and PIP said as long as we have the correct address then it’s fine:
