Reassessment due

One of my carers in my support bubble has been looking and filing my paperwork. She has looked at the dates on letters when I was last assessed for ESA which give her a time frame that I'm about due now.
Due to Covid19 mental health services and support have been limited or halted due to covid19, even my support bubble has been restricted.

My two friends who support me assist me with my care but have to juggle between them leaving little time to socialise them and my mental health is struggling a lot of the time.
Do you think they may halt the reassessment until January. i understand I have to be assessed like every one else. Its the evidence letters calls and collecting that may be difficult as visiting me in my home and my general day care is one thing as I am house bound. I could not live independently without there support

Its the precious little time they may struggle with collecting letters from my Drs and evidence regarding my situation ect, as they have there own situations.

I know there is a backlog of people waiting for there claims as jobs have been lost ect. I know everything has slowed down with covid in everybodies lives and the world. Does anyone have any advice.....

    HI,

The timescale they give you is just a guide and nothing more. You can be reassessed anytime from 3 months. You are correct in thinking there's most likely huge backlogs because of Covid. There's nothing you can do but wait.

If you do receive the forms all you can do  is send what you sent the last time you were reviewed, as you should have sent copies of the letters and kept the originals. This way you always have it to hand when you do receive the forms.

There's no other advice anyone can give you, unfortunately.

I know it's difficult but try not to worry too much.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    Thanks Poppy.
I know your very knowledgeable and this is a question been lurking in my head for a long time.
We have now left the EU and wondered if this would alter anything in the Human Rights Act 2010 for example the adjustments and home visits for future reference.
I know we have been in EU since year I was born. I don't want to sound stupid but are a lot of Human right laws linked to EU and the government alter a lot of them.

Everything stays ther same until January. I have no idea what changes will be made but please try not to worry, try thinking about something different.

I'm glad Poppy has been able to ease your mind a bit @charlie79 :) How do you feel your mental health is doing at the moment? I know you said you were struggling, but what does that look like for you? Have you been receiving any support, even if has been reduced?

I was with support services but my support worker did something and her boss reported her and an investigation was carried out and she was totally found at fault. I have trust issues and this incident made it worse due to the severity and complexities of things that happened to me.

I have a fear of the p68 hr week not hone so with support services I communicate through emails in which my carer can access and communicate on my behalf. Which proved what my support workers had abused my trust and data protection. Unfortunately the only suuport worker they had who was experienced and qualified enough only worked part time. I did get a letter from the support services saying I tried and engaged but my needs were to high for what they had available in February.
The plan was to get a support worker to build up trust in my home so they could sit with me during CBT home visit therapy arranged by my CPN, which support worker would contact and rengage with the CMHT at Kings College.
    Then covid happened.

I suffer from Severe PTSD, ANXIETY DEPRESSION, severe agraphobia and many other issues. I have a 168 hr week not a 24 hr day, due to side effects from meds sleep patterns and mental health, all debilitate me mentally and physically throughout the day periodically without any advance warning or notice.
My 2 friends support me other wise I could not live independently. I struggle everyday a lot of it to do with PTSD and reliving horrific events from past.

Its really difficult to explain without going into detail and Im not in a good place to go into it. The problem is al apts have to be home apts and visits and anyone new has to be introduced slowly over a period of time,.
due to fear and my flat being my safe haven.

I struggle everyday to be honest but am lucky have 2 good friends. Its just a constant battle, but Im still fighting some day struggling and others with the support I have available and my medications.

Unfortunately I was asking for help for a long time it wasnt until I hit rock bottom 2 friends had to fight for my help 4 years ago. Due to resources budgets my timing and services every takes longer and I would not cope without my meds at this point in time.

Things look hazy and many things are a struggle but I'm surviving that's the best I can do or say.

Sorry Tori when I type I get stressed meant I have a 168 week not a 24 hr day. My past posts will explain a lot so you understand. My situation is so complexed. Basically I have had alot of horrific things happen throughout my life. But 5 years ago I witnessed a robbery and it bought back a lot of abuse and trauma from my past so its difficult to explain. I am a qualified dental nurse but havent practiced in years... But my brain doesnt seem to be wired the same any more. But I am luckier than a lot of people and with to true friends I have more than most. Which I will always thank God for thats all I can say.

We signed up to the European court of human rights in the 1950's 20 years before we joined the then common market, I really wouldn't worry too much on that score
2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

I'm sorry that you had that experience @charlie79, and I can totally see how that would lead to you having some trouble trusting people.

Coronavirus has certainly affected many support services unfortunately. Have they said whether there's an option for the CBT to be done remotely, through a phone call or video call perhaps? Is that something you'd be interested in?

I'm really glad you have those supportive friends :)

Please remember that if things ever get too much, you can ring or email Samaritans on 116 123 jo@samaritans.org, or text SHOUT to 85258. You don't have to be suicidal to get in touch with them, but they can be good to talk to if you're struggling to cope.

There's no need to apologise for your typing, or for not wanting to go into too much detail right now.
