Universal Credit says PIP will not effect my housing element rate

Hi,
I have recently been awarded the Enhanced Daily Living Rate of PIP after 2 years of waiting for the appeal to go through and it is my understanding that being in receipt of this means that I should be on the One Bedroom Rate of Universal Credit despite being under 35.
Unfortunately, Universal Credit is claiming I am still only entitled to the Shared Accommodation Rate.

I have been put through a loop trying to sort the issue but despite it saying on the gov.uk site that I would be entitled to the higher rate they say that I'm not.
Can anybody help me with this?

HI,This is correct when privately renting. Daily living rate of PIP will entitle you to 1 bedroom rate. However, if your current shared rate covers all of your rent then you won't receive anymore than your actual rent amount.

Neither the one-bedroom or shared rate cover my rent.

Are you privately renting or social housing?You also say you've "recently" been awarded PIP, is the award in payment or are you still waiting for this, along with your backdated money?

Privately rented in a one-bedroom house. I have received all my back payments for PIP, I have also sent my letter to UC as evidence but the people I keep being referred to deny that PIP has any effect on the housing element. This is not because they do not think I am receiving PIP, it's because they think it doesn't matter that I am. They also refer me to my work coach who just says the same thing.

They are incorrect. I'd advise you to contact your local MP and tell them what's happened, inlcude the link i posted above and ask them if they can help you. Thanks for your advice, I don't trust my local MP at all but it can't hurt to try. :P
