Guilt

My mum suffers from strokes & my sister is her main carer as I work full time.

How does everyone deal with the guilt of having a recently disabled parent especially one you wasn’t particularly close to?

My mum can be quite blunt to the people closest to her (I think it’s the strokes) she has no emotion anymore, likes to guilt trip but then I see the persona she has in public when I take her out, it’s difficult for me to understand.

Just wondering how other carers cope with this as every day is becoming emotionally draining.

i and welcome I am not in this position but imagine ii must be hard seeing a loved one change and coming to terms with it

Could you get in touch with a carers charity who can give you advice also speak to your GP who may be able to suggest some support groups
