Question to all those with Physical/Invisible/Intellectual disabilities

If someone said to you that they could permanently cure your problems and allow you to live the life of the average person, would you want them to or would you stay how are are?

    I'm sorry but we all have to live in the real world having said that before I became disabled I didn't live the life of an "average" person I lived my life, and I enjoyed it, my disability doesn't define who I am but its stops me being who I was.

    I mean yeah I'd jump in line for a cure, because I'd be totally fascinated to be able to see normally. 

    But I don't think having or not having a cure will shape my happiness, being visually impaired has shaped my personality in a largely positive way.

    Good question!
    Without my disability, my life would have been completely different. I wouldn't have met the friends I have or travelled and experienced things that have been way above average.

    I would have said "who wouldnt want a cure?" But I have heard that many people with bi polar would not like to give up the highs over the lows.

    Hi @RacheleLeahSilvera, 
                                             Great question, with a complex answer. Initially, the reaction would be 'Yes please', however I know no different and what guarantees would I have that my life would be any more fulfilling. I am who I am and my disability is apart of me. This is something I have struggled with for many, many years but when I take a move back and look at the bigger picture I wouldn't have experienced some of the things I have or met some of the incredible people I have met.  It's a difficult one and for me I don't think I have a conclusive answer. Hope this makes sense. Thank you

    Is the Pope a Catholic? If there was a cure for Asperger's I'd be first in line. Same if I could have an Op on the NHS to cure all my physical problems.
