    Hi @Ibelive2020,

I think we need another national lockdown because people just ignore the rules as they don’t wear face coverings in shops and ignore social distancing.

    Hi @woodbine,

The problem is whilst children might not suffer from a severe illness, the fact is they mix  with other households which means they can spread it to more vulnerable people who can die from Covid.

I am really disappointed with your comments because I am not making ” wild assumptions”I have actually witnessed lots of people ignoring the rules throughout the pandemic in several different situations.

People also have the right to start their own thread even if there is a similar one.

I am shielding again so I will protect myself because I don’t have the luxury of living in a area where people follow the rules.

Please don’t insult me by saying I have made my remarks based on The Daily Mail, because I have only commented on what I have actually seen!  I am really surprised by your comments because just because people follow the rules in your area doesn’t mean that they follow the rules elsewhere. To suggest that I comment based on a really dreadful newspaper is insulting.

    Hi @Ibelive2020

I agree with your comments and I am in the shielding group so I don’t let anyone come into my home.

I have had to protect myself because of the large number of people who I have witnessed ignoring the rules in shops, at the hospital, in the pharmacy, petrol stations, in the park etc.

I can only speak from my area of east central Scotland on ignoring the rules ....Christmas and Hogmany there were parties in houses , with people coming and going all night long and into the first and second of January. ?
I wonder why flights in and out the country are still ongoing ?...Surely flights should be halted until we are over the worst of this virus .
I even saw an advert on TV for flights to Spain in April ...." Only £19.99 if you book within the next week " ...oh dear ???

Those cheap Airlines are a complete con IMO, they advertise £20 fares, but what they don't tell you is that that's £20 there but you have to fork out another 20 quid to come back! And even then you'd have to self isolate for a fortnight once you're back in the Country!

    Hi @Seanchai,

I have also commented on what I have actually seen since the pandemic began.

The majority of people I have seen in the local shops including the staff do not wear face coverings.

I have seen huge groups of different households mixing in the park with no social distancing.

I have seen lots of patients wearing their masks under their chin or nose or not at all. I have spoken to hospital staff who are frightened because of the lack of compliance with the wearing of face coverings.

I have seen medical staff wearing masks under noses or chins.

All of the above is what I have experienced and not read in a newspaper.

I had a job interview at the Co Op in Shiregreen last September, and one of the questions I asked during the interview was would I be forced to wear a mask if I was successful? The Manager said they didn't enforce masks for staff or customers and it was completely optional, I'm kind of glad I didn't get the job in that case, never mind the fact that Netherthorpe to Shiregreen would've been a right royal pain in the gonads of a journey!

The wearing of face coverings is not optional in shops. Staff and customers are required to wear them unless the person has an exemption.

Unless they are behind a screen/barrier and then they don't need to wear one. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own

I have read the guidance and I am talking about staff and shop owners blatantly ignoring the rules on the shop floor.

It’s no longer an issue for me because I refuse to go to these shops where customers just walk in without a face covering, don’t social distance and then laugh at me because I am scared?

Yes, you've said that quite a few times now.

The fact that I have had to mention it several times shows just how worried I am.
I also thought that I was able to post my experiences on here?

It took a lot for me to join this online community and I have always been open when making posts.

I thought the community was here to support each other especially when people in my situation are extremely anxious.

However, I won’t bother commenting any further as I am actually disappointed with some people on here tonight as I thought this forum was here for people to support each other.

I have had a lot of support since joining, unfortunately
I have recently noticed some people picking on other members which I think is a real pity because this is not what I would expect on here. This is not why I joined.

I appreciate that Covid 19 is an emotive subject but many people are extremely worried.

Your above comment is not helpful for me and I believe it was uncalled for.

I think it’s time I stopped posting on Scope because it is becoming a place for people to argue and upset others.?

The last thing I need is to get upset especially at the moment.

The community is indeed here to support people but this doesn't mean we can't speak our minds as has been pointed out to me quite a few times recently. If we can't speak our minds once in a while then something is seriously wrong here.

I also agree with @woodbine here, for someone who's been shielding i'm confused why you know so many people are not wearing face coverings or social distancing.

We are all indeed affected differently by Covid and my daughter lost everything during the first lockdown and her support never did return. She maybe almost 20 but she doesn't socialise with anyone and has no friends so it's affected her a lot. She relied on her support to take her out into the community.

I have commented on what I have seen. If you don’t believe me, it’s your choice.

I can’t repeat myself because I will get commented on by others

I won’t be posting on here for the moment. I didn’t join to be effectively called a liar.

@poppy123456 sorry too hear about your daughter losing her support during first lockdown that must be awful I dont really socialise with anybody either people on my street call me boring and a house hermit but I let it go over my head now because if they calling me at least they are leaving someone else alone

I am not a liar and I am commenting on what I have seen. I am not bothered if you don’t believe me but it is really bad that my posts are in doubt.

I am not going to give either of you an explanation about how I know people break the rules.

I could name all the places where I have seen people breaking the rules but it’s not worth the effort.

However, I do disagree with the way in which both of you comment about other posts.

Scope is here to help and support disabled people with many different issues.

Someone can speak their mind but effectively calling me a liar is unacceptable. I didn’t join Scope to be called a liar.

I have always posted things which I have witnessed or experienced. I don’t make things up and lie.

I didn’t join to be called a liar.

I don’t know what your motivation is for responding to people in this way. I have noticed your responses to other people’s posts as well as my ones.

However, I have decided to leave the forum because recently it has become a place for bullying. I was bullied and harassed for years at work and I don’t need people like you to try to bully or upset me.

I need to do what is best for myself and being called dishonest is not for me.

I just hope Scope doesn’t lose other members?

I can't see anywhere on any posts where anyone has specifically called you a liar. If you think differently then please go ahead and quote those specific comments.
