Due to walking difficulty, which might get worse as I get older, would I be eligible for a Scooter?

Topic.
I'm 45 in April, and as I haven't been able to do much in the way of exercise during all 3 lockdowns apart from Taekwondo 3 times a week, my mobility's a bit limited, even moreso than it always has been already.
Therefore would I be eligible to get a Mobility Scooter? I already know that if I drove I'd be eligible for a Motability car because I'm on enhanced rate PIP but that's not on the cards due to my problems.

If you receive the enhanced rate of the mobility component for PIP, then you would be eligible. You can find more information on the Motability website1

Hi
Yes you can get a scooter through mobility scheme however you can often get second hand ones in Ebay gumtree and facebook it would prob be a cheaper option than using your mobility award

woodbine said:You could just buy a new one or as suggested a secondhand one would offer better value, not sure how needing a scooter squares with seeking work in retail though?
A quick look at google suggest that breakdown and recovery insurance is available from £69 a year.
Basically I've come to the conclusion that after about 25 years of looking, I'll probably never work for money, I'll be 45 in April, so if an employer gets 10 years out of me before I have to retire, they'd be lucky.
