Because we lost my Nan in September 2016 to Alzheimer's, I'd like to volunteer for the local Society

I was very close to Nan Rhodes, and was heartbroken when she died, only time I ever got mad with her was once when her and my Uncle were on a rant about people on long term benefits with no intention of working, and for obvious reasons I was a bit narked about this, they later apologised and said they didn't mean me, they knew about my problems.
Anyway to cut a long story short, in September 2016 after a long battle with Dementia, she passed away in her sleep in a Home, and also now my Uncle's partner who's in her mid 80s (but doesn't look it) also has it.
I now would like to volunteer as a fund raiser for the local Alzheimer's Society, I Googled their website last week, but couldn't find any info about volunteering.
Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

i'm sorry to hear that; my mother in law has had dementia for eight years now, and its a condition I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
I think that most if not all charities have had to stop their funding raising activity due to covid and lockdown.
So it might be something to look into when life returns to normal. Maybe if they have a charity shop in Sheffield that would be the place to start once they re-open?2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡 -
I'm sorry to hear about your nan @MrAllen1976, it's a heartbreaking thing to watch a loved one go through.
I'm glad to hear that you are driven to do some voluntary work in her memory, that's a lovely gesture and I'm sure she'd be proud of you for it.
If you go to the Alzheimer's Society website, there is a general enquiries form for you to fill in, which will allow you to explain what it is you are looking for, and I'm sure you'll be pointed in the right direction by whoever picks up your email.
Alternatively, you can find the charity's volunteering homepage here, where you can browse available roles and register for alerts, and so on.
