Hi I would like to share recipes and see what every one is cooking I need to start eating healthier. What you all cooking up in kitchen?

I did a chicken and veg pie for tea, not healthy with pastry but it was nice.

I shared a recipe here today for syrup sponge on another thread cant remember which it was tho . Also not very healthy

Well been looking at Turkish recipe to try it's a Turkish stew very different to English stew, I just need to buy a few ingreedience spices I don't have etc. I love cooking too. Need to eat more veg n fruit, syrup sponge sounds nice but no good for me diabetic.

Just use the sponge recipe I shared yesterday that is a basic sponge and add stuff to it like toffee pieces (you can get them in baking section ) or choc chips
Use an ice cream scoop to put mixture in bun cases
Then bake in oven about 18 to 20 mins leave to cool
I then scoop out bit from top and put caramel in you can buy Nestle caramel in tin
Then you can buy ready made frosting or make your own
If you cant pipe just put some on top using knife
You can add flavourings to sponge mix as well like coffee, cocoa , flavoured essence
Just have a play with flavours you like -

For those of you that are not very confident at cooking I also make a cheats pie as below
Meat and potato
2 tins steak in gravy
1 large tin new potatoes
Ready made pastry either puff or short crust
Put meat in dish
Cut up potatoes and add on top of meat
Open out ready rolled pastry and cut to size put some of ends round rim pie dish then add cut out top and press at edges to pastry on rim
Brush with beaten egg and bake for about 35 to 40 mins at 180 degrees
You can make this with other fillings like tinned chicken in white sauce or minced beef just what you fancy
Even tinned fruit just sprinkle sugar on pastry to make it sweet -
@janer1967 I will be trying that aswel you must be good at baking my mum used to be good at mskeing carmel shortbread she used to make it for the local cafe sadly she has dementia now mum loved baking

I'm not cooking today, half pie left so will do just do chips n gravy. It's good when 1 days cooking lasts 2 days

@BrettW yeah mostly when I cook it lasts 2 days, I do it from fresh and scratch so lasts.

Hi,
I will share Deer Jerky Recipe:
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 tbsp. black pepper
1 1/2 tbsp. salt
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. water
3 lb. lean deer meat, cut lengthwise into strips
Marinate meat in aggregate in a single day, stirring every now and then. dangle meat on toothpicks on top oven rack. bake on low heat 8-10 hours, or till meat has dried. placed drip pan under meat in oven. depart at room temperature for 2 days then place in ziploc bags and refrigerate.
You can find best dehydrator for deer jerky at this site because making deer jerky in a dehydrator will be a lot more fun and easier. -

Red lentil curry I just cooked
I small bag lentils (works out at 2 large glasses full)
Wash lentils then boil on stove 1&half glasses of water to 1 glass of lentils.
In another pan 1 chopped onion, garlic, ginger and chopped tomatoes, cook till in a paste and tomatoes are soft.
Add half tea spoon turmeric, tea spoon chilly powder, salt,
Add the cooked lentils to other pan stir through, add guram Masala and chopped coriander. Enjoy.
