When is pip backdated from when you first call the dwp or when u first send that fourm back im not sure aslo do you normally get the decision letter before the backpay?

If you are awarded PIP the claim start date is the date you first ring DWP to start the claim (provided you returned the health form within the required time period).
Claimants often receive payments before the letter. The payment is authorised at the same time as the letter is drafted and it takes longer for the letter to arrive than for the payment to be made.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
