I have my PIP assessment in two weeks. I've been doing some reading about it on this webpage https://disabilityclaims.uk/questions-asked-at-pip-assessment/, which I found to be quite helpful.
I have PTSD, and a lot of the reduced functioning that I experience is in different social situations. There were many different fields in the form that I filled out about reduced social functioning, however on that website it doesn't say anything about that and it seems to look like the assessment will be based only on physical ability to do things. There were also parts of the form that I filled out about things like being able to manage my finances on my own, which are not mentioned on that website.
Will those things be discussed in my assessment and will I be scored on them?

You will be scored on the descriptors i've linked to a self test from benefits and work to give you some ideas

Thank you this is really helpful. Is this the same point scoring system that they'll use in the assessment?

Yes you will score points (or not) against the descriptors, but its good to know what they are before the assessment.
Lets us know how it goes, about 7 days after the assessment you can request from the DWP a copy of the assessors report which should give you an indication of the award you might get.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡 -

I paid nearly £20 to join a site for their advice on changing from DLA to PIP ...but I then discovered " Scope" ...which did not charge a penny and the information I got from members on here was second to none .. .I cannot thank the members ( and ex members) enough for their expert advice and encouragement when I was at my lowest ebb .
Good luck Joe F ?( I do feel that 'luck ' plays a big part on your assessment and that should not really be the case in my opinion) .
I got a very nice ( yet professional ) assessor . I hope you get a decent professional phone assessment Joe . Prepare for all questions and go over it beforehand to make sure you have answers at hand . -
Thank you for all of your advice. I didn't realise that the link I posted was charging for advice, I only read the page I linked and I haven't looked at the rest of the website.

@Joe__F you might also want to look at sites that specialise in PTSD/Mental Health - Mind etc. Most sites like that have specialised advice in relation benefit application relevant to the condition/s in which they are specialists.
Good luck with your application.

Hi @Joe__F - Hoping it's not too late in the day to recommend the following website: https://www.mentalhealthandmoneyadvice.org/en/welfare-benefits/pip-mental-health-guide/help-with-your-pip-claim/how-to-fill-in-the-pip-form/
Altho this is about completing a PIP form, it is about mental health issues, which again I hope, as mentioned above, you have detailed in your claim pack.

Thanks for the link, I already filled out the form and I did talk about my mental health on there. I will have a look at the link anyway and I'll take a look at the mind website also
