Hi my son (age 22) has voiced he wants to stay over at mine three nights a week,I don’t claim housing benefits as I’m a home owner, however I do get council tax reduction and pip along with esa SDP.
he won’t be a paying lodger and will not eat here either. it’s just my house is handy for catching the bus as father lives out in the country.
I haven’t agreed as yet as wanted to try and get some clarification from anyone that could help me many thanks

    Hi there

As far as I am aware that is fine for purpose of benefits

When I enquired about this was told as long as other person can prove they live elsewhere eg postal address pays bills,  then there is no issue

To be sure you could contact welfare rights or maybe other members can help

As long as your son normally resides elsewhere it isn't a problem
