my husband is struggling to get out of the bath I try to help but suffer from a slipped disc , does anyone know what help I can give him

Have you approached your local authority for a care needs assessment?

I'm in the middle of a battle along my mum at the moment with her local authority just about the same issue.

No worries, just ring your local authority and ask to speak to the adult social care team.

With disability aids, no VAT payable, as you just complete a simple declaration online. Even if you don't go with them, it might be worth a look through, as they supply the NHS, so when an Occupational therapist contacts you, you will have an idea as to what may be available.

I don't know if somewhere like the above shop may help your Mum too @MarkN88

Hi @mumelaine63 I know the feeling at not being able to get in and out of the bath, I can't use 1. I contacted occupational therapy at my local council who came out to do assessment. They put a report in to my landlord, who has approved the bath being taken out and a shower unit be put in, unfortunately because of covid restrictions I'm having to wait until restrictions are lifted, can't wait.

I have a similar problem and now have a bath seat installed at the Flat which the morning carers use for me to have a bath, only problem is unless I tell them (and I shouldn't have to it's in the damn care plan!) they don't always put the seat controller back on charge.

As previously mentioned get on to your local Authority they should be able to provide this kind of equipment.
