Hi, I'm Chris0909! Do PIP DMs run off report, or make decision themselves after seeing report?

I'm new here and have few questions if anyone could help and ty in advance..
I've been fighting pip for over a year now and just had an accessment done on 11th Feb... I've just received a copy off the report and it states that I'm awarded 19 points for daily living and 20 points for mobility and it says 2 years.
My question is do the pip decision makers run off the capitia report or do they make the decision themselves after they get the report?
For people wondering I got these points for mental health anxiety depression
And degeneration of the disc and prolapse disc in lower back
Thank you again if someone answers and thank you for reading this much appreciated ?

Hello and welcome to the community @Chris0909 How are you doing?
Just to let you know, I've moved your post into our PIP category and renamed it slightly so that other members can find it more easily. -
The DM makes the decision. I think this should involve reviewing all the evidence of which the report is part. In practice they generally follow the report.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

The good news is that it looks like you will get enhanced for both parts, as above generally the DM goes with the report.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

Tori thank you for moving it

Calcotti and woodbine thank you for the replys. It's been a struggle from losing dla to losing pip then finally a good report back. I hope they run off it but I'd be happy with any award
