Using Public Transportation with a Physical Disability
Hello,
My name is Henry Lale and I am a Master's Degree Mechanical Engineering student of the University of Surrey. My Individual Project Dissertation requires me to design a passenger lift which enables people with physical disabilities to access public service vehicles.
In order to do this, I want to interview a selection of physically disabled people so I can gain insight into how best I can design a system to fulfil their needs. I am looking for volunteers from people who have a registered physical disability, who have previously used public transport, and who live in the UK. I would really appreciate if you would be willing spare some time for to complete short interview or alternatively fill out my questionnaire (whichever is most convenient for you).
The questions relate to the nature of disabilities, difficulties with using public transportation, previous experiences with transportation, and how they envision public transportation improving to become more disability friendly.
If interested, please contact me. Also, if you know of anyone who would be happy to participate, please let me know - it would be brilliant if I could reach a good sample size!
Thank you for your consideration.
Kindest Regards,
Henry
