Hi all
Just update
Been to hospital again today and pressure in my eye has reduced to half what it was last week so great news
Another injection in April and waiting virtual appt with surgical team . If pressure stays same will be able to be considered for cataract surgery . While they dont expect sight to improve it could get rid of the blurred hazy vision at least
Feeling lots better today

That is good news, here’s hoping.

Hi @janer1967, I'm pleased for you, let's hope things keep improving.
Are the cararacts due to diabetes? I hope you don't mind me asking... -
Great to get good news,
-
@Oxonlady I'm not sure tbh my gran had them and my mum
I have glaucoma which is due to diabetes and hereditary that is what causes the pressure and why lost my sight in one eye -
Oh dear, I see.
Do you have type 2 or type 1 diabetes?
I've got type 2 but I'm allergic to all the diabetes medications, including Metformine. I try to control the diabetes through diet but I do get a lot of blurred vision.
Having said that, I've got cataracts forming at the back of my eyes due to long term steroid use... -
@Oxonlady I have type 2 but had it over 30 years
I have had several bleeds as well which I have had laser surgery for
My cataract is covering my pupil
Make sure you have your annual eye checks
I cant tolerate more than 1 metformine daily but I take insulin 4 times a day and have done for 20 years -
Gosh, I've got a friend who is in the same position as you. She can't seem to control her blood glucose levels even though she's on insulin.
I've got my annual diabetic eye test next week.
Wishing you all the best with your health problems.
