Fibromyalgia and Pulsatile Tinnitus

Good evening everyone!

Yesterday I had my MRI Scan for pulsatile tinnitus and will get my results with the ENT specialist on the 1st April. I am not sure what to expect because I have moderate hearing loss and when I google pulsatile tinnitus it comes up with tumours, artery problems and pressure in the brain etc! Its all very overwhelming, anyone else have any experience with pulsatile tinnitus, hearing loss and ENT?

Also, I found out last month I have fibromyalgia which was a shock because I was not expecting that! I have no idea how this will impact me in life and I do not really know much about the condition, other than I guess I am in pain for a long time! I have an appointment on Tues with pain management and I am hoping this will be beneficial as I've never had pain management before. Again, if anyone has any info on pain management that would be great!

I don’t have pulsatile tinnitus but ordinary tinnitus, very loud. I was sent for an mri scan some years ago as my tinnitus came on very suddenly but they found nothing in the way of tumours or such. ENT then told me that what I had was incurable and that I have joined around one million others in this country with tinnitus. I still have it of course but I have learned to live with it though I never thought I would, that took me around four years or so but we all vary.

I dont know anything about fibromyalgia though, sorry to hear that you have both those maladies.

    Hi @Welliboots93 :)

I'm going to move your post over to our Visual and Hearing Impairments section - https://forum.scope.org.uk/categories/visual-and-hearing-impairments. See if we can get some more response to your query about pulsatile tinnitus.

Also, rather than splitting your post up, I wonder if it might be an idea for you to re-post your question about fibromyalgia separately. That way, you might be able to catch the attention of other members of the community with fibromyalgia and speak to them about their experiences as well.

Let us know if you have any questions or we can be of any further help
