Hi everyone.I was wondering if there are any grants available to install a toilet in my bedroom as my bathroom is downstairs.Having just come out of hospital due to a flare of my Crohnspancolitis,i'm struggling to get downstairs. Thanks,Trev

Best place to start will be getting a needs assessment:

Hi @Trevem1965 - Welcome to the community, & thank you for joining. Just to add to the info given above, would a commode help in the meanwhile, or if you just need a short term solution? Please see: https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/toileting-aids/commode-chairs/comfort-commode-chair for example. Altho this seems to be currently out of stock, you could enquire as to when they might have these again. Also see their online VAT exemption form, which is easy to complete, & you would qualify: https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/shop-information/vat-exemption-for-the-disabledOther possibilities may be here: https://www.manageathome.co.uk/bathroom/toilet-aids/commodes/ orhttps://www.careco.co.uk/cat-ba05/commodes.htm or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bedside-Commodes/b?node=2826334031Just search for 'commodes' online.Hope this may help.

Hi @Trevem1965
Welcome to the community! Great to have you with us
I can see that you've already made a start getting to know some of our members and getting answers to your original post. Hope that's all been helpful to you?
Just to let you know that I've also moved your post over to our Finances and extra costs section, given your initial inquiry about a possible grant. You might want to take a look at some of the previous posts on that page as well, just to see if there's any additional advice on there that might be relevant to your circumstances.
Anyway, welcome on board. Just give us a shout if you want any further help or you have any more questions for us -
Thank you Caz?
