Hello, i applied for PIP back in August 2020, i had my assessment a few months back now, 4 weeks after my assessment they need to call me again for some extra details when i answered, the guy had no idea who i was and was aware this was a new assessment, i broke down, as he heard the stress, he decided to put me through under a paper assessment. i called them 3 weeks after again, they had told me to wait 4 weeks, and today marks it 6 weeks. still no text from DWP. no credit, have a friend helping me with calls and it's even starting to stress her out. what should i do, who should I call, im stuck.
My last text message was on the 8th of march for a PIP consultation on the 8th of March (yes 3 days notice), a month after my actual assessment which was the 5th of February.
Is this normal? am I missing something? do they ALWAYS text?
Cheers all

            Hi and welcome
It can take this length if time especially as you have had a few different calls and assessments
They say around 8 weeks for a decision so as they contacted you for consultation on 8th March it could take a bit longer
There are no fixed timescales all you can do is wait or call and try soeak to your case manager1 -

Thank you for your response, what is a case manager? and yes I suppose they're still a couple of weeks for those 8 weeks. the last call i had they said they were sending a request for a paper assessment, how long does the request take? and should this be added to the 8 weeks?janer1967 said:Hi and welcome

            Hi again
A case manager is the decision maker dealing with your case
Don't get hung up with the 8 weeks this is only a guide
Paper based decisions don't take any longer unless they need to request more evidence from gp or specialists
It us just a waiting game I'm afraid they have huge backlogs to get through0 -

I understand, just 7 months seems a bit harsh, I'm aware I'm getting something as i was "stuck between 2 tiers" but now im starting to think they wont backdate it that long.janer1967 said:Hi again

Hello, have you requested a copy of your assessment report and on receiving it you can work out what your award may should be but you still have to wait for the award notification letter.1

UPDATE: And i need some serious help.
PIP called me, saying i need to to do another assessment, 3rd one now, saying they have no information on me and this is coming from a new, 3rd assessor from Capita, they are saying My doctors and Mental health doctor are not getting the information they need to back to them.
They have lotst my original assessment i done in February, and they have been trying to get me to do another since and i wont as they won't tell me what happened ot my original assessment were coming up 8 months since the application now.
for the past 9 weeks it was my understanding DWP were making a decision, and they have not been, and now, pip said "leave it with me" which does not help at all tbh.0 -
Small update, DWP has text me a week ago saying the claim in with them now... i have had 5 missed calls, (no messages) past 2 days, i woke ip at 5pm today

This thread is 10 months old and the timescales for decision's have changed in this time. As advised on your other thread a decision can take anything from 2-12 weeks. The letter you received is a standard letter sent to everyone. Nothing more you can do until a decision's been made.
