Do I need to make it clear during my telephone assessment what the award I want is? How?

Thankyou @calcotti. I have written these things down already for assessment.
Can’t wait for it to be over, two more sleeps!

I’ve just missed a call from Premex, working on behalf of IAS. It’s to discuss tomorrows appointment. I didn’t pick call up, as I didn’t recognise the number, but they left a text asking me to contact them ASAP, which I’ve done, and left a message on the voicemail.
Wondering if it’s to cancel or change time. Anyhow .......

Looks like it was a courtesy call to verify that I’ll be available tomorrow. I called the other number that was left on text message, so all fine and dandy.

Hi woodbine, I don’t have anyone to sit with me, but that’s ok. I shall definitely charge my phone up, plus I’ll charge the bank thingy (can’t think of proper name for it) just in case I’m on phone a lot longer, which I’m praying I’m not. The woman said it can be between half hour to and hour, but reading some posts on here, I know it can go on for much longer!

Hi saversam. I’ve had the same. You’re exactly right too, it’s the only thing I’ve thought about since I was notified of the date. I hope I get someone nice, at least you feel a bit more comfortable in talking I guess.

I have now written up all my notes, having included difficulties for each thing, amount of time it would take me, and given if not two, then just one of a real life scenario. Have I covered it all?
Now, I can only do my best tomorrow, and fingers crossed.

Thankyou to everyone for their valued input. I have appreciated every bit of advice given, and support shown.

Yes I had a text on Tuesday that it was with the DWP & they would be in touch within 8 weeks,  & not to contact them before,  so just a waiting game now

i thought you could request a copy of assessment once you’d received the text. It is a long time to wait though, 8 weeks.

All the very best of luck for tomorrow @Leigh14 - I think you're just about there. You mention how long an activity might take you, which is indeed relevant. However, can you do the activity to an acceptable standard, can you repeat it as often as would be reasonably expected, & also can you do it safely? Please see the notes on page 7 of the following: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/Personal-Independence-Payment-Descriptors-and-Scores-April-2021.pdf

Thankyou chiarieds. I think I’ve covered it all, ‘repeat it as often as would be reasonably expected’ I mentioned the distance I walked, and then how it affects me to walk the same distance, by walking at a slower pace than before. Is that what reasonably expected would be?
Not too sure about the acceptable stand either.
    I’m so confused now.

Sorry, I had no wish to confuse you @Leigh14 - Yes, your comment about how you can't repeat a certain distance without it taking you longer when trying to continue/repeat this is certainly relevant, & definitely well worth mentioning. Doing something to 'an acceptable standard' isn't relevant to all activities, so don't worry. Also worth mentioning is how attempting/doing an activity leaves you feeling afterwards, if appropriate. If you feel, for example exhausted by doing an activity, or attempting it, then can't repeat it as often as you'd wish, if there are other examples as well as your walking, then mention these. My best wishes.

Oh no, please don’t apologise, I’m just so grateful for everything you’re pointing out. I shall take a deep breath, and check my things over once more.
I have included how activities leave me feeling. Thankyou so much.

Assessment all done (phew) I was able to get all that I needed to say said. It lasted 1 hour 10 mins, and I was called an hour before actual appointment. She was lovely, which definitely helped.
Now I have to wait, and hope for the best.

Thankyou everyone for the support and advice you’ve given. ?
