Pip assessment today

Hi everyone!
I am new here I have a lot of health problems and I am struggling with my health so much recently and this site has helped me realise I am not alone so thank you!
I had my pip assessment today by telephone and I have to say the lady was very nice a few times I got really upset as I feel today was probably the first time I have ever really had to talk about how things affect me and my family.
She basically asked me all the questions that were on the pip form the only thing that I though was a bit different was she asked me how many steps I could walk rather than distance.
Now I suppose all I can do is wait and see the outcome but after having to give up work and all the health issues I have going on I can only hope for a fair outcome.
Take care everyone and try not to worry I was anxious but it wasn’t as bad as I expected.

Within 7 days you will probably get a text to say the DWP have your assessment report, if not give it about 7 days and you should give them a ring and ask for a copy to be sent out.The assessment report will have black dots or ticks on each descriptor which is the score for each descriptor the healthcare professional is recommending. This will give an indication of what award you will receive as mostly the DWP decision maker will go with the recommendations. (Although I can’t guarantee this).1

Well done for getting through it. Talking about stuff to someone we know can be difficult, never mind a complete stranger, so you did really well.I had my assessment last week, and I had a lovely lady (which of course is no indication of the outcome) but it did help.Let us know how you get on.0 -
Thanks Leigh, it certainly was tougher then I expected to talk to them. I was a bit unsure when she asked me about how many steps I could walk but I was just as honest as I could be and will see what happens. Good luck hope you don’t have much longer to wait xLeigh14 said:

They say about 8 weeks to get the decision from DWP, but could be less or more.I thought it was odd that I was asked if I worked, considering you can claim PIP working or not. I wasn’t asked about the steps, but the distance, but I guess all questions asked are different.0

I received a copy of my report today after calling for it yesterday so shocked it came so quickly. Most of it is correct a few bits I don’t agree with but think it’s more the way I have tried to explain things rather than anything else ☹️ She has recommended standard care and enhanced mobility. So will just wait and see when I get the decision now.1

Thanks for sharing your experience with us @kerryi86
I'm sure that'll help other members who might read your post.
Is that the level award you are hoping for? Of course, you'll have to wait until you receive your award letter to know what you've actually been awarded.0 -
Hi Tori, after all the stories I have been reading I honestly wasn’t sure if I would be het any points at all so although I think I missed out on a few points on the care section that I genuinely thought I should be awarded I know why I wasn’t. I am not very good at explaining things and the assessor has only written what I said so I can see that I have explained things wrong. I am just hopeful that I do get awarded and glad of the help at the moment. The only thing is she has recommended to review it again in 2 year and six months I originally applied at end of November so if I get awarded it won’t be long at all before I need to do it all again ☹️0
