Hi I have a lovely 25 year old son who has Autism, severe learning difficulties and a severe and complex social communication disorder. He also has a great sense of humour. He is currently transitioning into adult residential home and attends college full time. Due to being in a residential home we have just been advised he cannot visit his family home and if we visit him he can’t touch us. As a result we have temporarily removed him from his residential home and he is back with his family. We were told if he returned to the home he would have to self isolate in his room for 14 day. We feel very strongly that this is not possible for him to cope with and is cruel.
Is anyone else having similar problems?

Hi @SueD - & welcome to the community. Would it be possible for you all to have a Covid test? My daughter who is visiting with her family has just had them all tested so she knows it's safe to visit me. She & her husband got the results back in 24 hours, tho for my grandchildren it was less than 48 hours.

Hi, Thanks for your response. The home where he was provided us with lateral flow tests and we used to take them before he came home but suddenly last week they said no visits. He is allowed to go to college and out in the community but not to family home and they have now constructed a visitors room in the garden of the home with a screen so he can’t touch us ? He has no understanding about any of this.
