Hello, as per some advice I've seen on here I have requested a copy of the telephone assessment report that I did last week. I was wondering if anyone has experience of receiving an assessment report and if it's possible to deduce how many points I will be scored based on the assessor's notes? Thanks.

    Hello @buildupbuttercup

    How are you?

Yes, you will be able to get an idea of the points that the assessor would award you, but whatever that may be doesn't necessarily end up being what you are awarded. It then has to go to the decision maker who may or may not go along with the assessor's report.

Hello @buildupbuttercup - compare the black dots/ticks at the end of the assessor's report with the following to see the points that may be awarded (if the decision maker goes along with this report).

Thanks for the information everyone. Is it correct that doing this will give me an opportunity to correct any inaccuracies or misinterpretations I believe the assessor has put down? What would the process of doing this be? I struggle with memory issues & got very confused and distracted throughout the assessment. I'm worried I gave a very limited view of my condition and that the assessor won't have taken how much stress I was under into account. What can be used as supporting evidence? Thanks!

Sorry, no....all the assessment report does is give you an indication of what any potential award might be based on the assessor's recommendation. You still have to wait for your decision letter. If unhappy with the outcome of that, you can write a Mandatory Reconsideration, which means another decision maker will look at your claim. But, one step at a time, & kindly let us know what your assessment report indicates.

Someone on this forum said that if there are mistakes in the assessment report that you can phone in to put the decision on hold while you send in additional supporting evidence i.e. a statement correcting inaccuracies with supporting evidence. Is the person who suggested this mistaken or is it possible? Thanks.

What you describe is putting in mandatory reconsideration

It doesn't put the decision on hold just gets looked at again but you should do it in writing not over the phone as you may miss into

But as advised you need to wait for a decision first which could take around 8 weeks

I think buildupbuttercup was referring to put the decision making on hold after the report is produced but before a decision is made. For the avoidance of doubt, you cannot put in an MR until after the decision has been made

Hi Buildupbuttercup,   When you receive the report it will say what points the HP recommends you get and for what.
Read it carefully and highlight [with a highlighter pen] the things you disagree with. Go to your copy of the evidence you sent in and highlight where you say things correctly. Write a letter addressed to The Decision Maker pointing out these discrepancies and ask her to take these into account when making her decision. Add that this is not a request for a mandatory reconsideration and you reserve your right to do one, should it be necessary. Be aware the DM nearly always goes with the HP's report. You need to do this as soon as you get the report. If nothing else it will give you an extra shot at getting the right decision. Good luck.

Thank you so much. How do I address a letter to the decision maker?

Send the letter to the same place you asked for asked for the HP's report.
On the top of the letter write for the attention of "The Decision Maker"
when you start your letter inside put that on the top.
Make it a very factual letter just pointing out things that should give you points.
If the HP has already given you enough points you will not need to do this.
I was given 6for DL &4 for Mob by the HP but the Decision Maker gave me enhanced on both.
So it will give you another chance as you can ask for a MR if need be. Best wishes. Easy.
