Hi everyone I'm currently in receipt of DLA (lifetime) and still waiting to be transferred to PIP. Not even been approached yet. My question is I'm 64 in August 2021 and wondering if that is 64 the cut off for being approached by DWP.
Or do they go on when you qualify for your pension which for me is in 2years when I'm 66.

I found this information on the Citizens Advice website:
"You’ll carry on getting DLA if you were 65 or over on 8 April 2013. For everyone else aged 16 and over, DLA will stop and you’ll need to claim PIP instead - even if you have a ‘lifetime’ or ‘indefinite’ award for DLA."
You won’t automatically move over to PIP. You’ll get a letter from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) asking you to make a new claim."

@Ross_Scope is dla being phased out I jave been asked a few times and I can't answer I also wanted to ask about the motability changes as people have said its changing will it affect prople when it comes to the end of their 3 years please

@Ross_Scope from 2022 it won't be pip any more it will be adult disabled payments how will that affect everyone thsts on pip and dla ??

@lisathomas50 yes dla is being phased out they are very behind in getting people on dla to apply for pip
Getting dla doesn't automatically entitle them to pip they have to go through the process as criteria is different
Dla is still remaining for children
Not sure about your other questions -
All adult DLA claimants who were younger than 65 on 8th April 2013 will be informed their DLA will end and will be invited to apply for PIP. The process is several years behind (as always with anything the DWP undertake).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Adult Disability Payments will apply in Scotland using powers devolved to the Scottish Parliament.
