Ear plugs and the startle reflex

I was just wondering if anyone has found ear plugs useful for reducing the startle reflex? I tried some cheap ones from Poundland but found that they made my ears sore wearing them every day & I couldn't get used to speaking at a normal volume with them in. I've been looking at the Calmer ear plugs & the Vibes ear plugs. Has anyone got any experience of these or could recommend another brands?

Hi @the_velvet_girl, how are you?
I know of people who use Doc's Pro Medium Vented Ear Plugs. They are clear so are more discreet than most brands and because they are vented you should be able to have more control over your speaking voice too,1 -
Thanks for replying. I've ordered a pair from Amazon so hopefully they will help.0
