I turned 18on the 8th September and my DLA claim ended on the 7th September even though my claim for PIP is still being assessed. Is this lawful? It’s taken this long to get it done since I was 16 because moving from England to N Ireland and they suspended the re assessment for a while due to covid.

HI,Here in the UK DLA should continue until a decision's been made on your PIP, providing you applied and returned your forms before the deadline. I have no idea if this is the same for N. Ireland. You will need to ring DFC to ask them.0

Northern Ireland is part of the UK (but not Great Britain). I would be surprised if the rules for DLA to PIP transfer differ in NI but don’t know. It’s possible there are some extra rules for claimants moving from the ‘mainland’ to NI.0
