Hi

I currently get my UC paid monthly however the pay date means I can not effectively budget for rent etc

Can I ask to change my assesment period therefore my payment date?

If I ask to get paid twice monthly can I ask for specific dates or will it just be two weeks after my normal pay date if I get this request accepted?

Thanks,

No, there is no mechanism to do this. Your AP is determined by the date you made your claim.

If you request to be paid twice per month you will get half your monthly amount on your existing pay date and half two weeks later.

    Ok thank you

Does this mean that If I ask for 2 payments per month instead of 1 that my original pay date that I have right now will remain the same, and I will just have another pay date 2 weeks later? So every 2 weeks keeping my original pay date.

    Thanks

Yes. You simply have to wait two weeks longer for half your money.

As I am self employed, would I have to do my income and expenses twice per month or once still?

Once only just as existing. Your entitlement would still be worked out monthly using the same AP but payment of the amount due is split into two.
