PIP condition update letter

Hello and good morning..

My first post on here, so great to find somewhere with people who have knowledge of PIP.

I currently have PIP standard rate with no mobility. This was a struggle to win with DWP scoring 7 points and the reconsideration agreeing. Finally won at tribunal with over a years payback. My current PIP claim ends on the 27th May 2022. I recieved a letter yesterday asking about an update on my current condition and that if I do not return the letter by the end of October my benefit may end.

I was under the impression that if PIP was won at tribunal then PIP should be paid to the end of the award that the tribunal decided on.

My conditions have all worsened since my original claim rendering my options to work in my career as an electrician rather impossible. I was just a little worried that DWP might  decide to either stop or hold my payments if they decide like they did originally that I am not entitled to PIP.

Personally I would rather just be better and go to work as I am only just over 40 but this is not an option for me and I really do not see any employer even considering me for a labour intensive job with current conditions. I have a lot of little problems that add up to make employment difficult. All conditions are specialist diagnosed and prescription medicines dispensed for. My current conditions are, Tinnitus, ETD, Asthma, Arthritis, Degenerative disk in all parts of the spine, osteopenia which as caused four compression fractures in back, Schuermanns disease, hypertension, Hiatus Herina, GERD, Nerve pain, Sciatica with disk pressing on both nerves (seen on MRI) and the obvious symptoms that causes and stomach problems and have just had some Polyps removed.

This is my little rant at the DWP after their disgusting treatment I recieved on my original claim. That included doctoring my evidence and blacking out all MRI`s  so they could not be read and seriously changing what was said on the phone. For example I said I take my dog for a small walk some days (they changed to enjoys long walks with dogs). They also said that because I could drive short distances that I must have good strength and mobility. With the DWP offering Mobility cars I which a lot of claimants drive I did have a little shout at that one.

Sorry about this post and I dont expect the DWP to increase my claim what so ever but to think they can just stop it if they feel its what is needed then what is the point in the award duration.

Anyway just a little stressed and worried that if the DWP think I am not eligible that in a few weeks they can stop my PIP and then I would have to start the claim over again. Considering it took nearly thirteen months to win my case originally. So very sorry for this long post but if a claim  was won on tribunal are the DWP within their powers to just stop a claim when they like.

Thanks very much and any help would be appreciated,

    HI,

Was there a form included in the letter you received or was it asking you to reapply by a certain date? Either way you will need to do what it tells you in the letter, otherwise yes your PIP will stop. The Tirbunal gave an end date to your award but DWP can review you at anytime. Any new decision made will overrule your current award.
You should also remember that the HCP's job isn't to write what you said verbatim, if it was then there would be no point in having the assessments in the first place. It's there to gather more information about how your conditions affect you. The HCP will then write their opinion in the report, which is based on what you wrote in your form, the evidence you sent and the assessment itself.
If you sent MRI scans as evidence for your current claim the reason they were blacked out is because when they are scanned onto the computer the scanner is unable to scan the actual image.
When you fill out this form you need to make sure you add as much information as possible about how your conditions affect you. Your anecdotal evidence will be the best evidence you can send. Adding a couple of real world examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you. Adding information such as where you were, what exactly happened, who (if anyone) seen it and what the consequences were.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    Thanks for the reply Poppy.

Will get it all together to send again. Cannot be any worse than the original application anyway.

    We will see what happens.

    Thanks Again..

Made a mistake looks like it was less time on the claim, it ends in December not May so looks like the DWP have sent the letter at the correct time after all.

    Thanks..
