    Love this question @Katiekoo

For me, I normally think about all the positive things it has taught me and the aspects of my personality I believe it has developed, like patience or problem solving.

I see mine as an intrinsic part of me, as much as my eye colour. It has given me resilience, tenacity. Great people watching skills!

As  Mike has said know about your disability and not being afraid to talk about how it impacts on your life. For me I have taken ownership of my disability and I don’t look disabled until I try to walk ect. But I’m not after symphony none of us are. Being able to joke with friends about our inabilities like going on long dog  walks and the friends say it’s ok for you your sat down riding. But it’s all in good taste and no harm intended. Once people know and see you on a regular basis you’ll have people stopping to talk with you .

I think having a disability has made me more determined to show able-bodied people with disabilities can do anything they want. I think poetry and another writing opportunity as open many many doors for me
