I have not heard of there being power cuts and hope they don't happen. I remember them at the same time as the three day weeks, which were bad enough. I also remember the winters of years ago. Trudging through deep snow to get to work ECT. The last few winters have been fairly mild they say because of global warming. I hope this one is as mild as the last.1

Same here the I only knew central heating in my late 20's. And it felt like magic that the whole house could be warm not just one room. Constant hot was the work of the Gods to my primitive mind.TheAlien said:@woodbine, we were in a council house, we didn't even have a car let alone a garage.
