Hi we are in a shared ownership of 30% and over 60 and presently living in second floor apartment. Unfortunately I am unable to access stairs due to registered disability. My partner is key worker and earns 28.000 . We can not afford another home so don’t know what to do - rental is not a good option - any advice

@changesrequired good evening and welcome to scope, I suspect the answer will be no but would it be possible to have a stair lift installed?
There hasn't been a disability register for many years now btw, but are you claiming all the benefits you might be entitled to?

Hi,

I'm not sure what options you have here if renting isn't an option and you're unable to afford another home. The only thing that comes to mind here is a needs assessment by referring yourself to your local council. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/

I suspect that a stairlift may not be possible with it being an appartment.

If rental is not your preferred option, then perhaps you could look into making adaptations to your current property to make it more accessible for you?
