Neck and Shoulder Massage in London

Hello. Can you recommend a good masseuse for a 50-year old lady with cerebral palsy, living in Camden Town? The lovely friend I care for has intense pain at night and needs someone to help her iron out her painful muscles. We'd be so grateful if you know of someone in North West London who does home visits. Thank you if you do!

No, Chloe, not at present. She did have, for many years. Would this be better than massage, do you think?

Hi @AngelaMinzly, a physio might be able to work out the source of her pain. They they can provide stretches and gentle exercises which could help to reduce muscle tightness.

You can get a GP referral.

Hi @AngelaMinzly - & welcome to the community. Just to add to what Chloe has said above, physiotherapists also do massage. Why do you say that? That is exactly what massage is primarily for, & I say this as someone who as a physio student was trained to do this. I've also received many as we practised on each other first.

It's better not to wait by the sea in this situation. The therapeutic massage for CP is the same as for other diseases: stroking, rubbing, kneading, and vibration. In therapeutic massage for adults with CP, all movements are done from the center to the periphery, which helps relax tense muscles. This kind of massage is called a descending massage, and it is excellent for such patients. I learned from different manuals, books, and videos.
