Good morning all, I'm getting really confused and upset, I've had osteoarthritis in both hips now for over a year, but I'm now getting pain down my spine, and I feel like it's getting worse, I saw my podiatry two weeks ago, as have to have insoles as the difference in leg Lenght, I keep asking my doctor to refer me for more xrays, as walking is really now unbearable, but they keep refusing it, as they say it takes up to 2 years for joints to worse, but I know my body, what can I do?

    Hi @Popdiva43

Thanks for posting, and sorry to hear that your spine is causing you quite a bit of pain at the moment. Have you considered asking your doctor for help with managing the pain? For example, any exercises or medication that they could suggest for you.

    Hi there

Sorry to hear of your troubles can you ask for a second opinion

Another option is to go private I would also suggest chiropractor

If you are not satisfied with your gp then make a complaint

Hi @Popdiva43 - I'm sorry to read your GP isn't listening to your increasing problems as you certainly do know your own body the best. Is there another GP in your practice that you could talk with to get their opinion?

I had issues with my hips and was told I had osteoarthritis in both. I was told at 51 I was as bit young and should try ands manage on pain killers. When I couldn't cope I saw a consultant that said it was bone on bone and which one did I want first. Don't take no and insist on being referred to an ortho specialist.
