Hi, I've just submitted my pip review forms a couple of weeks ago, does anyone have an idea of wait time for an assessment? The very though of then make me feel sick. Thank you.

Backlogs are huge at the moment, going by lots of other threads it could be several months. Most people have assessments, even for reviews so you should expect one of those.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

    Hi Poppy,
Thanks for the reply. I'm expecting an assessment and a battle as always.

In my case, it was a change of circumstances (but still a review of sorts I guess) and from submitting form to receiving decision was a mere 9 weeks, I wasn’t required to attend an assessment.

so although most seem to have very long waits, some can be done far quicker, guessing a lot depends on the amount of cases being dealt with in the area you live.

Hope you get to hear soon

I hope that you don't have to wait too long to hear back @sunnydays :)

Is there anything in particular that's worrying you about the prospect of an assessment? Many people get anxious about them, so you're not alone in that feeling.

I just find the whole process really stressful. From dla to pip was an appeal that was successful then 2nd time around has to appeal again and dwp just telephone and I accepted there offer. Hopefully 3rd time lucky with my review forms. I'm just awful with the unknown. Shall keep you posted.

When you filled out your most recent form did you treat it as a new claim and include as much information as possible? Adding a couple of real world examples of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you?
A lot of people are refused PIP because of poorly completed forms. I ask this because you’ve had to challenge your previous decisions.

Hi Poppy, The forms we completed and answers were in depth, I never wrote no change in any of the answers. I've sent up to date medical reports too. My problems are all too do with the assessments with Atos, it's the lies that causes the problems. Would be great if this just goes smoothly as I'm a real worry kind of person.

Hi, I'm a bit worried this evening as I've relooked through my pip review that I sent 2 weeks ago I've put 1 of my meds down wrongly and managed to leave another med of the form that's on my repeat prescription list. So I quickly wrote a letter and sent it via special delivery so they will have it tomorrow. Do you think this will be OK? Any views would be helpful.

It won't be received by tomorrow, more likely in a few weeks time. "Special delivery" or next day delivery means nothing at all for DWP. It still has to go through the same mail sorting process as normal delivery. It's signed for by someone from Royal Mail, not someone from DWP and in my opinion is a waste of money. It's not classed as arriving with DWP until it's been added to the computer.
What you could have done is told the assessor the changes during your assessment. It doesn't matter now but in future you will know.

Hi Poppy, I knew you would be 1sr to answer that question, your so good. I just panicked when saw my mistake, I'm an all over the place person and my thinking is always all over the place. This maybe why always in an appeal. Thank you you so much for your help. Shall keep you posted

I sent the questionnaire back in May, finally got a letter saying I would have a phone assessment, missed it as my phone does strange things and was on silent, once I realised I rang them, must have been some 10 minutes later as I was checking my phone constantly. This was back in Oct, rang them several times since and they are claiming they no longer send out letters to confirm but text you instead, they said they had done this 3 times since I missed the assessment. My phone though can go on silent but it doesn't miss phone calls or texts messages. Really frustrating as it definitely wasn't me they were contacting. If at all as can't help but be a little suspicious.

They are supposed to send out a letter to tell you that you have an appointment. Then the reminders are sent by text message.

Thanks for the replies, the chap I spoke to definitely said they weren't sending letters unless I'm already in the system or something. I was on DLA since 2006 until they changed it to PIP I was horrified by the new system. I decided to come off it as didn't feel I was in a vegetable state at that point LOL. Not worked since 2019 as just couldn't work full time anymore as it was literally sapping the life from me. I'm on ESA and at 64 it's highly unlikely I will be offered a job. What gets me is my wife worked in care till Jan 21 and she only handed in her notice because we were scaling down and moving. Been limping badly for over a year, covid left her not properly diagnosed. 2 slipped discs and a collapsing hip and rushed through from being seen by a specialist to being operated on 2 weeks later in March. Never claimed anything and by august was working part-time again bless her. So we have never taken advantage of the system. I have MS and Meniere's pretty bad and worked my whole life bar 2.5 years when I was struck down with this horrible disease. And that was only because we were unlucky and I went to a Chiropractor undiagnosed at the time but having a flare-up, turned out he was registered as none practising at the time and did 5 neck manipulations on me. he ignored all the signals that were presented at the time and I was actually waiting for an MRI on my spine and brain. That was pretty much it. I had my first neuropathic attack and my life was taken for the next 18 months of sheer hell. When I finally could walk again I was told it was a wonder he hadn't killed me. took me another year to return to work part-time. He was banned from the Chiropractors Council and had already fled the country as he hurt someone else as well. Never tracked him down, the case remains open some 14 years later So there you have it, feeling a bit peeved at the moment.

    Hi,

Just an update after sending my pip review form in November 2021. Today I've been awarded Higher personal care and lower mobility the same as before. The award is for 4 years and it was paper based. I'm very happy with that. There is hope for everyone.
